Medina EC and its board recognize the obligation to our members to ensure the viability of the cooperative as a sound business enterprise with fair rates.

Effective June 1, 2023, Medina Electric Cooperative’s tariff will change impacting three of our rate classes:

• Irrigation Service: Rate 310 or 311 (load management and non-load management service)
• Cotton Gin: Rate 520 or 520NC
• Pump Jack: Rate 710, 810 or 811

Members who utilize electric service under these rate classes have been contacted directly by mail and email if the changes will impact them.

The revisions are based on recommendations from Guernsey, a company that specializes in the development of electric rates, following a cost-of-service study it completed to determine whether Medina EC rates fairly allocated costs between rate classes and to ensure that rates continue to support operations, maintenance and capital improvements. The adjustments being made will better align revenue with the cost to serve each rate class.
