Trey Grebe | Chief Executive Officer
About Trey
Trey started as CEO for Medina EC in January 2022. He has been involved in the electric industry since 1985 and has filled various roles in marketing and management positions. Prior to Medina EC, he was Assistant General Manager for Wheatland Electric Cooperative in Kansas.
As CEO, he prioritizes providing reliable power at the most affordable price while providing exceptional customer service. He values being part of a member-driven organization that has an incredible team which works to “Exceed Member Expectations in Everything We Do.”
Trey represents Medina EC and its members on the board for South Texas Electric Cooperative and San Miguel Electric Cooperative as well as a committee member for Texas Electric Cooperatives Manufacturing and Distribution Services. He is both a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Energy Procurement Professional from the Association of Energy Engineers. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas State University in San Marcos.
Trey is from Taft, Texas and likes to get back to the water for fishing whenever possible, spending time with his wife and kids, and he especially enjoys when his grandkids come to visit.
Doug Kindred | Chief Information Officer
About Doug
Doug Kindred is Medina EC’s chief information officer. He began his career in 2001 and has since built an IT department to ensure Medina EC is technologically equipped; implementing state of the art equipment and devices to help employees work more efficiently and focusing on keeping Medina EC’s system secure from cyber threats.
Doug is a veteran and a former police officer. He was born and raised in Hondo where he enjoys spending time with his wife and enjoys when his three adult children come home to visit.
Laurie Van Damme | Chief Financial Officer
About Laurie
Laurie has been employed with Medina EC since 2008. As chief financial officer she is responsible for overseeing MEC’s financial operations to ensure funds are used in the best interest of the members. She also oversees human resources and administration for prioritizing the workforce that powers Medina EC's members. Laurie values the cooperative business model—being a nonprofit—to improve the quality of life for others.
Prior to joining the co-op, Laurie was the manager of MECO Federal Credit Union. Laurie has a Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting degree from the University of Texas San Antonio. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two adult children and researching her ancestry.
Keith Calle | Chief Engineering Division Officer
About Keith
Keith is Medina EC’s chief engineering division officer. He started working for Medina EC in January of 2019. Keith manages system engineering, line design, GIS mapping, smart grid and metering, technical services, and safety.
Keith has a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering degree from Texas A&M and a Master of Science, Management of Technology degree from University of Texas San Antonio. He is a Registered Professional Engineer by the State of Texas. His prior experience with other electric utilities has brought a wealth of knowledge to the Medina EC engineering department. He values being able to guide the department on key projects that focus on exceeding member expectations and values the commitment the co-op has to improving the communities it serves.
Keith is from Castroville where he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time on lakes or traveling the Caribbean.
Patti Taylor | Chief Administrative Officer
About Patti
Patti is the chief administrative officer for Medina EC. She began her career in 1999 as the executive assistant working with the general manager/CEO and the board of directors.
She enjoys the family-atmosphere the cooperative has, being able to interact with employees on all levels, working with the board, and strives to maintain a strong safety program so that employees go home to their families at the end of each day. Patti is an MIP graduate from the NRECA Robert I. Kabat Management Internship Program.
Patti, originally from the Corpus Christi area, found her way to the Hondo area first in the early 80s where she raised her family. She enjoys time with her husband, studying her family genealogy and spoiling her seven grandkids.
Leonard Geyer | Chief Operations Division Officer
About Leonard
Leonard is Medina EC’s chief operations division officer. Leonard started with the co-op in 1994 at the power plant previously owned by Medina EC. He then began working as a groundman and worked through various roles including crew foreman, project coordinator, line foreman and line superintendent.
In his current role, he focuses on making sure safety is a priority in everything his team does while keeping the lights on. Leonard was born in Jourdanton,TX and was raised on a ranch in Frio county. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting and team roping as well as spending time with his wife and three daughters.
Katie K. Haby | Chief Member Relations Officer
About Katie
Katie serves as an executive leader at Medina EC overseeing communications, member relations and business development. A team member since 2013, she stepped into her current executive role in January 2026 to streamline member touchpoints and ensure a cohesive strategy for community engagement and growth.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing from Texas A&M. Within the cooperative world, Katie has obtained her Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC) and Certified Key Accounts Executive (CKAE) certifications and completed the prestigious MIP management program in 2019. As a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach, she brings a strengths-based approach to every situation she encounters and enjoys helping others fully embrace their strengths.
Katie lives in Hondo with her husband and two daughters where they enjoy participating in their church, school and community. She is proud of her local roots, growing up just down the road in Uvalde.
