Here is where you can expect to see Medina EC crews and contractors frequently during November.

• Crews with Allegiant Utility Services and Lamar Technical Services will be inspecting and updating equipment throughout our service area. During the rest of 2019, their primary focus will be in Medina County. As part of this work, contractors may be photographing Medina EC equipment and poles. Members in impacted areas have been notified by postcards and email, and they will get an email following the work with new account information they may want to record.  
• Crews with LineTec are performing various projects for the cooperative throughout our service area.
• Schneider Engineering is working in Quihi on CR 4516, FM 2676 and the surrounding area preparing to upgrade the lines in that area. Crews with Cedar Beetle are clearing ROW for this project. The full project will not be complete until the end of November.
• Crews with LineTec are upgrading power lines along FM 463 from CR 6612 to Hwy 132 and down CR 772. The project will be complete in the late fall.
• Crews with LineTec are rebuilding power lines along FM 1343, south of HWY 90 in Castroville. The project will be complete in January.
• Crews with LineTec are also upgrading power lines around the Ferris substation. The work will be complete at the end of November.
• Crews with Medina EC are upgrading equipment in South Batesville, along S FM 117, FM 1025 and surrounding areas, on November 20. The work will be completed that day.

Tree Trimming and Vegetation Management Work

The majority of ROW work is done by contractors. You can learn more about our vegetation management program here. 

• Crews with Asplundh will be clearing ROW in Bigfoot. This work began February 11 and should be complete by the end of 2019.
• Asplundh is also working in the Devine area, including the Great Oaks Community near IH-35. This work will continue through the remainder of 2019.
• Crews with BeeGoose and Chemical Weed Control are doing work throughout our service area to prevent the regrowth of vegetation which could cause outages. Impacted members got phone calls about the work.
• Cedar Beetle is working the Castroville area and will continue work in that area through 2019. They are also doing clearing for a rebuild being done in the Quihi area, which should also be complete by the end of the year. Individual members who will be impacted by the work will hear from one of our vegetation management employees.

All Medina EC contractors have letters showing that they are an approved contractor along with the dates of the work. If you see someone suspicious, do not hesitate to ask them for their credentials. Updating Member Information

In addition, the cooperative is working to update contact information for all members. If you receive an email or letter asking your to verify the information we currently have on file for you, it is likely from the cooperative. All correspondence will have current information printed on it, for you to either verify or correct. The forms will not be blank. Information we will be verifying includes name, mailing address, phone numbers, email and use of electricity. We will not ask for social security numbers, driver's license numbers, date of birth or any bank or credit card information. If you receive a letter or email and are unsure of if it came from the cooperative, please do not hesitate to call us to verify.
