Medina Electric Cooperative presented the Medina Healthcare Fund with a $6,650 donation on Thursday, July 30. This donation will help the Medina Healthcare Fund to fund and implement a point of care testing system at the Medina Healthcare System including the hospital and clinics. This will allow the lab to process results in minutes rather than days for viruses like COVID-19. In addition, the until will also be able to test several viral labs that are currently sent out for results. The tests would be for viruses including, but not limited to, RSV, flu, and COVID-19.

Concern For Community and Cooperation Among Cooperatives are longstanding Cooperative Principles. Cooperatives like Medina EC work to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve and supporting the Medina Healthcare Fund is just one way of doing that. The foundation provides invaluable healthcare services to Medina County and beyond.

The donation was made possible through the members of Medina EC, and through CoBank’s Sharing Success charitable contribution program. CoBank, a national cooperative bank, is one of Medina EC’s financial partners. Through the Sharing Success program, CoBank matched $10,000 in donations that Medina EC made to nonprofit organizations throughout their 17-county service area.
