Following a six-month executive search, Medina Electric Cooperative has hired a new Chief Executive Officer. Herbert “Trey” Grebe, III will begin on January 3, 2022. Grebe has more than 20 years of senior management level experience in electric cooperatives and a demonstrated history of success working with electric utilities. Grebe will become Medina EC’s ninth CEO.

“Trey’s extensive experience and expertise are perfectly suited to helping us continue our mission of providing safe, reliable electricity at the lowest possible cost to our member/owners,” said Medina EC Board President Kenneth G. White.

Trey is a native of Taft, Texas and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas State University in San Marcos. He also is a Certified Procurement Professional and Certified Energy Manager. Trey has been actively involved with community and professional organizations throughout his career.

Grebe said, “I’m truly honored to become a part of this amazing organization. I look forward to working with the talented employees serving the membership of Medina Electric.”

The current CEO, Mark Rollans, retires at the end of 2021 after more than 30 years of service to the cooperative.
