At their July 28 board meeting, the Medina EC Board of Directors voted to cancel the 82nd Annual Membership Meeting, which had been planned for October 10 in Uvalde. This was a very difficult decision for the board and staff since they value the opportunity to gather with members annually at this event. Ultimately, the decision was made in an effort to do our cooperative part in keeping everyone healthy. As a result of the cancellation, all business scheduled  will be moved to the meeting held in the fall of 2021, which will again be held in Uvalde. This includes the approval of minutes from the 81st Annual Membership Meeting.

Incumbent directors Larry Huesser (Voting District 1), Jimmie Raines (Voting District 2) and RH Rodriguez (Voting District 3) will continue to serve in those roles. They all signed Declaration Forms in February 2020 indicating their intent to run in their respective districts. No other members were nominated at any District Nomination Meetings, also held in February 2020, and no one submitted a petition to run for any positions, so no election was held this year per Bylaws. If you think that you would be interested in serving on the board, please watch for information on that process for the next election in January and February of 2021.

To continue to show our appreciation for members, staff are working on plans for prizes that members can register for using a card in the September Texas Co-op Power magazine. Be on the lookout for your magazine and submit your card, and you could be one of the lucky winners. A list of prizes will be listed here when they are finalized.
