Crews continue responding to outages. We understand the frustrations of those who are still without power and Medina EC is doing everything possible to restore power. We are monitoring weather and rain forming to the west of the area. Our next update will be at 8 p.m. unless there are significant updates prior to that. Crews are going to work through the night to continue to restore power to members.

Restoration Estimates: Please note - these are only estimates and can change. We will post significant updates when we receive them.

  • Castroville, Bader, Rio Medina and Dunlay – The power supplier has all transmission lines rebuilt as of 4 p.m. and began re-energizing them as of 4:30 p.m.
    • For members in this area that have had the 2 hour power cycles, this transmission rebuild and re-energizing will also result in those rotations ending and your power will be fully restored. For members that were off when these repairs were made, we recognize your last cycle was 30 minutes longer and apologize; but it was necessary to get our crews in the right places to bring power to members who have been without power the entire time.
    • For members who have been without power the entire time: crews are bringing members on in small groups; we cannot give exact times. We have had multiple staff patrol lines with trucks and helicopters in the Castroville and Bader areas so that when the transmission lines are rebuilt, we know what additional repairs are needed to bring power to every member in that area; however, we do know there is a possibility of finding additional damage. Expect some individual outages to go through the evening. However, crews will be working in the area to visit all locations and make all necessary repairs.
  • D’Hanis, Natalia – There are still about 35 meters off. Those are individual outages and linemen are working on restoring them. Power should be restored today for most meters, but we can not provide an exact time.
  • Hondo – There are still about 180 isolated outages that crews are working on individually. Power should be restored today for most meters, but we can not provide an exact time.
  • Uvalde County - We are down to 25 meters without power in this area. Power should be restored today for most meters, but we can not provide an exact time.
