Medina EC has undertaken a project to upgrade all equipment and meters on the system - which is approximately 31,000! The goal with these upgrades is to provide members with real time information and to be able to better manage power outages. The new equipment will enable the system to self report outages, which will enable cooperative crews to restore power more quickly. The upgrades are expected to be complete in 2022.

 

Contractors Performing the Work: Lamar Technical Services, Allegiant Utility Services, Linetec Services

Because this is such a large project, contractors will be helping the cooperative to complete the work. All contractors have laminated letters (English and Spanish) showing they are working on behalf of the cooperative.

 

Members in the area where work is taking place will be notified by mail and / or email, depending on the contact information they have listed on their accounts. Following equipment changes, members will be emailed (if an email is available) with their new meter number for their records.
