If you are claiming a sales tax exemption on electricity used in the production of agricultural products, you must renew your exemption by December 31 through the Office of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Otherwise, the co-op will be required to charge sales tax on your electric bill beginning in January.

How To Renew Exemption Certificates

All applicable accounts will get an email or letter at the beginning of November. It will contain some information that we have on file for your account, and will need your updated exemption number and dates. Those seeking renewal information can visit the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts website for more information.

One certificate is required for each customer number.
Once you get your new exemption form, send it back to the cooperative (you can submit it online from your email or mail it back with the paper letter). The form you get will show which customer number(s) your certificate applies to and have space where you can add or verify your contact information.
