Youth Tour Contest: Deadline 1/16

From June 10-19, 2015, three students from our service area will be on a trip of a lifetime, visiting Washington, D.C. Why shouldn't you be one of them? Applications for this year's Youth Tour contest are due 1/16/15. To view all eligibility information and to download an application, click here.

ERCOT has evaluated the potential implications of the EPA's proposed Clean Power Plan.

Production of Solar PV System

Medina EC recently installed a 30 KW solar photovoltaic system on the roof of the engineering building at our headquarters office in Hondo. You can view current production of this system here.

Co-op Donates Books to Area Libraries

Medina EC donated 3 books to 26 public libraries throughout the 17 counties we serve at the beginning of November. The cooperative hopes to be able to donated the same books to area schools in the coming years. We hope our members and the surrounding communities enjoy the books.

SmartHub & Ebill Members - Payment Issues

Beginning November 5, members who use SmartHub on older browsers like Internet Explorer 6 and 7 will have to upgrade their browser to make payments in SmartHub or Ebill.

Member Survey: We Want to Hear From You

Medina Electric is currently in the process of surveying our 17,000+ members with the help of Texas Electric Cooperatives, our statewide organization.

Board Election Results

Results from board elections were announced at the 76th Annual Membership Meeting.  

 

Results were as follows:
District 1: Larry Huesser - 1,830 votes; Irene Rodriguez-Dubberly - 509 votes
District 2: Jimmie Raines - 1,729 votes; Nicolas S. Rodriguez - 506 votes
District 3: RH Rodriguez - 1,845 votes

Thank you to all members who participated by running for a board position or by voting in the election. Democratic member control is what cooperatives are all about.

CANCELLED: Meet the Candidates Forum - Devine & Hondo

Due to lack of candidate availability, both of these events have been cancelled.

 

Medina Electric is sponsoring a Meet The Candidates forum in Devine and Hondo. Meet local, state and federal cadidates for upcoming elections and ask questions of them before you cast your vote.

 

October 7 - South Texas Regional Training Center Ballroom in Hondo - 6:30 pm

October 9 - Devine Community Center in Devine - 6:30 pm
