Upcoming Petition Deadline

If you are interested in serving on the board for Medina EC, you can be placed on the election ballot through the petition process. The petition deadlines for voting districts are: District 1 - March 30, District 2 - March 30 and District 3 - April 6.  

Anyone interested in being placed on the ballot through the petition process should contact Jennifer Olson at 1-866-MEC-ELEC (632-3532) extension 1051 to obtain the appropriate paperwork. You can also check the Bylaws for more details.

  • Pole replacements are beginning in the area north of Crystal City. Approximately 200 poles will be replaced. Work will begin January 14 and will take about 4 months. Pike will be performing the work for Medina EC.

 

Community Empowerment Program To Award $15K In Grants

Medina EC is seeking applications for a new community Empowerment program, which will provide up to $15,000 in grants during 2015. The deadline for applications is April 1. Grants will be awarded for capital projects that support community and economic development in any of the 17 counties served by Medina EC.

Emphasis will be placed on projects that:

Board Approves Retirement of $1M in Capital Credits

At the December meeting, Medina EC's Board of Directors voted to retire $1 million in capital credits. Current members will receive a credit on the bill they get in January. Former members who are due money were mailed checks at the end of December.

 

The amount each member will receive in capital credits is based on the amount of electricity they purchased during the years for which capital credits are being retired. Every member's credit reflects their contribution of money to the cooperative for those years.

Notice: District Nominating Meetings

Members who wish to run for a position on Medina EC's board should plan to attend the District Nominating Meeting for their voting district. If you are unable to attend and want to run, you must be nominated by another member at the meeting or use the petition process (outlined in the Cooperative's Bylaws).
