Scheduled Maintenance on Phone System 10/1

AT&T has scheduled maintenance to occur in the early morning hours of October 1 from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.  The work should not take longer than 30 minutes to complete once they begin.

 

ORU Announces Latest Awards

At their recent meeting, the Operation Round Up Trust Committee announced the latest round of recipients for ORU funds. The following were awarded money:

Updating 911 Addresses for All Meters

Medina EC is currently working to get updated/correct 911 addresses for every meter in our system. With over 31,000 meters, this is no small undertaking and we need the help of all of our members. Please help Medina EC update records by submitting your correct 911 address even if you think we already have it on file.

 

September: Work Locations & Updates

Election Opens 9/1, Closes 9/24

Election ballots will be mailed to members on 9/1. Members with valid email addresses on file will also receive a ballot via email. In addition to voting for candidates for the three open board seats as part of the director elections, which are typically held at this time, members will vote for or against the amending and restating of the Articles of Incorporation. The board recommends voting for the amending and restating of the articles. 

ERCOT Issues Conservation Request 8/13 3-7pm

ERCOT, the grid operator for most of Texas including Medina EC's service area, has issued an Energy Emergency Alert and requested conservation between 3 and 7 pm on 8/13/2015. Generation units (the systems that produce the power we all use) have had outages, which is contributing to the tight conditions on the Texas grid.

School Supply Donations Accepted Until 8/21

Medina EC is collecting school supplies at each of our offices (located in Bruni, Dilley, Hondo, Rio Grande City and Uvalde). All supplies donated at each office will go to students in that area.

Check local school supply lists for items to bring. Donations are being accepted until Friday, 8/21.

ERCOT Requests Conservation on 7/30, 3-7 pm

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has requested that consumers conserve electricity from 3-7 p.m. today. So far this week, electric demand has reached three records and they are projecting even higher demand this afternoon.
