July: Work Locations & Updates

Here is where you can expect to see Medina EC contractors and crews frequently during July:

  • Work is being done on a line near the Fowlerton and Los Angeles substations.
  • About 6 miles of line between Hondo and D'Hanis is also being rebuilt so it can support the larger electric load being put on the system by growth in the area. This work should be complete in October.
  • Crews are replacing some power poles in the D'Hanis area. Crews from Line Tech Services are doing the work for the cooperative, and the work will continue until the end of 2018. Crews inspected poles in that area in 2017, and now replacement are being done as deemed necessary.
  • Crews are replacing poles and wire along Shields Ranch Road in the Montell and Campwood area. LineTech is performing the work for the cooperative and should have this work complete by the end of August.
  • Crews with Allegiant Utility Services are inspecting meters and equipment throughout the entire area served by Medina EC. They will be in the area from April until September.
  • Crews with LineTech are also replacing poles and wire on lines south of Batesville off of Hwy 117 West down La Paloma Road by the cotton gin. This work should be done by the end August.
  • Crews with QPI are inspecting 2,500 poles in the area east of Cotulla and south of Fowlerton. The work should be complete by the end of July.

Tree Trimming and brush clearing work is occurring in the areas below. Unless otherwise noted, the work will go on during all of 2018. You can learn more about our vegetation management program here.
